Adansa (“we”, “us”, “our”) helps you save and borrow together through digital susu and savings groups. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Adansa, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
You give us:
- Account details: your phone number and name when you sign up, and your profile photo if you add one.
- Identity verification (KYC): your ID number and photos of your government-issued ID, collected to confirm you are a real person before you can create or join a group.
- Financial activity: the groups you join, your contributions, payouts, loan requests and repayments, and the mobile-money number you use to add or withdraw funds.
We collect automatically:
- Device information: device model, operating system and app version, used to keep the app working and secure.
- Push token: a notification identifier so we can send you reminders and updates.
- Usage information: basic logs of how the app is used, to diagnose problems and improve the service.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and secure your account and verify your identity;
- run your savings groups, tracking contributions, scheduling payouts, and managing cooperative loans;
- hold and move funds on your behalf through our custodial wallet;
- send you reminders, approvals and important notices by push notification and SMS;
- calculate your trust score and keep groups safe;
- detect, prevent and investigate fraud or misuse; and
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
- Other group members see limited information: your name, profile photo, and your standing within a shared group (such as whether your contribution is paid). They do not see your ID documents or contact details.
- Service providers that operate parts of Adansa on our behalf, including cloud hosting, identity and image storage, SMS delivery, push notifications, and payment and mobile-money processing. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
- Legal and safety: where required by law or regulation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Adansa, our users, or the public.
Data storage and security
Your information is stored on secured servers and protected with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; however, we work hard to protect your data and to limit access to those who need it.
How long we keep your data
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records after closure where this is required to meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or regulatory obligations.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update much of your profile in the app, or contact us for help.
- Notifications: you can manage push notifications in the app and in your device settings.
- Account closure: you may ask us to close your account; some data may be retained as described above.
Children
Adansa is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
